The restaurateur Eduard Gascons, founder of Els Tinars, was awarded last week with the T awards, tourism and transversality, awarded by the Jordi Comas Foundation. The award is a recognition of his contribution to the excellence of the Empordà and Catalan gastronomy. Gascons, who has left the management of the restaurant in the hands of his sons, Marc and Elena, is part of the group of restaurateurs that linked the history of the Empordà Motel in Figueres with the revolution led by El Bulli, along with Jordi Budó, Carles Camós, Lluís Cruañas and the brothers Josep and Jaume Font. During his speech, Gascons recalled the beginning of the establishment and the work carried out by his generation colleagues.
Baroness Carmen Thyssen and Professor Emeritus of Economics at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, Joan Cals, were the other two winners of the night.
